Free Tatting Pattern: Needle Tatting Collab Challenge (Full Tutorial)

In this video series learn what is in the mystery package and what the tatting challenge is! Follow along as my friend Sarah (of Dan and Sarah Makers) and I collaborate on our first tatting project together. The Tatting Challenge Takes Shape…



Tatted Edging Pattern

 

1st Round (RND): Basic Edge

Insert needle and knot thread to any corner of fabric edge (at same thread spacing from needle as you would typically make first stitch on needle).

 

*Ch. 5ds, p, 5ds,

Attach by knotting to fabric edge ½” from last attachment. **

Repeat from *to ** until reach desired edging length.

Double knot, hide thread ends, cut thread.

 

2nd Round (RND): Ring Chain Edge

Insert needle and knot thread to same corner of fabric edge as 1st RND (at same thread spacing from needle as you would typically make first stitch on needle).

 

Ch. 10ds, RW.

R. 3ds, j (to first free p of 1st RND), 6ds, j (to next free p of 1st RND), 3ds, cl, RW.

Ch. 10 ds, RW.

*R. 3ds, j (to same p as last p join to 1st RND), 6ds, j (to next free p of 1st RND), 3ds, cl, RW.

Ch. 10 ds, RW.**

Repeat from *to ** until reach desired edging length.

Insert needle and thread through fabric edge at base of last Ch. attachment of 1st RND.

Double knot, hide thread ends, cut thread.

Iron.
